TERMS AND CONDITIONS
LIABILITY.
THE CORTEZ CLUB, its agents, and affiliates shall not be liable, financially or otherwise, to any persons for: non-performance or unsatisfactory service; for injury to persons, including death; for loss, delay, or expenses arising from strikes, war, weather, quarantine, sickness, government regulation, or other causes. This includes loss of property or damage thereto, and for any act, omission, or default of its employees, agents, carriers, ground operators, or any other service providers.
Expeditions of this nature involve travel to remote locations, often far from medical services. Such travel involves risk. You are thus required to be in good physical and mental health. We strongly urge you to check with your insurance agent to ensure you are adequately covered for any eventualities. Trip insurance is highly recommended to protect your person, property, and investment.
Please note that if an accident occurs in certain locations, medical care may not be available or adequate. It is your responsibility to determine your ability to participate. Dive insurance is mandatory and may be purchased on site.
THE CORTEZ CLUB, its agents, and affiliates reserve the right to make modifications or changes to the itinerary, including those for reasons of comfort or safety. This applies both before and after the scheduled date of departure. These changes may include cancellations due to undersubscription or conditions beyond our control, including acts of God and similar events.
All expedition reservations are made by application. THE CORTEZ CLUB reserves the right to deny acceptance of any application at any time, for any reason. THE CORTEZ CLUB also reserves the right to require any participant to withdraw from the trip for just cause. If a participant’s conduct is deemed detrimental to the interests, safety, or welfare of the expedition team, the trip leader, carrier, or service provider has the right to enforce this decision.
In the event of forced withdrawal, a refund—less advances, deposits, and other expenses made for, or incurred on behalf of the participant—will be provided, covering the unfinished part of the tour. This refund will be made as soon as possible, without further obligation.
Participants accept this authority as a condition of joining the expedition.
PRICES, DEPOSITS, AND REFUNDS.
The stated cost per person is based on transportation, land arrangements, and other elements calculated at the time of publication. These prices are subject to change due to unforeseen circumstances, such as exchange rates. Prices are based on double occupancy, where applicable. Single occupancy supplements may be booked at extra cost, depending on availability.
All prices, deposits, and other payments are expressed in U.S. dollars. Prices are subject to 16% IVA (local sales tax).
Unless stated otherwise, deposits for all trips are 25% of the trip price. This deposit is due immediately upon verbal or written acceptance of the application. If the trip is booked less than 90 days before departure, full payment is due at the time of reservation. Full payment is due 90 days prior to departure.
In the event of cancellation, a written request must be submitted. If the request is received up to 90 days prior to departure, the cancellation fee will be 25% of the monies received. 50% of the payment will be forfeited for cancellations received 90 to 45 days before departure. No refunds will be given for cancellations received less than 45 days before departure.
If the balance of payment has not been received by the due date, THE CORTEZ CLUB reserves the right to consider the booking canceled. Reinstatement of a reservation is contingent upon availability and a $50.00 fee to cover reinstatement costs.
Cancellation or changes of air reservations are subject to the rules and regulations of the involved carriers. There will be no refund for absence from a trip unless previously arranged or for missed activities.
All refund claims must be made in writing within 60 days after the end of the trip. If a participant voluntarily interrupts the trip, fails to join the trip, or leaves before completion, no refunds will be made.
